I can’t believe it! Another year has zoomed by and we are in full Christmas mode at the Klatt house. Before I close up shop and bury myself in Christmas carols and sugar cookies, I’d like to share this amazing shoot that we did a few weeks ago! It’s got a little glam…a little sparkle~just perfect for ringing in the New Year!
For years, I’ve loved looking at the Vanity Fair Photoshoots done by Annie Leibovitz. Famous celebrities draped in beautiful gowns, what’s not to love? Our own version was just slightly less glamorous (taking pictures in 30 degree garages does not rank high on the glam meter), but beautiful nonethless! I’ll share a ‘before’ picture of the background at the bottom of this post, so stick around till the end!
Besides the Vanity Fair Spread, I’ve always wanted to shoot some sparkly New Years Eve pictures, and since I already had the beautiful models in their gorge dresses, it was a perfect fit!
Here is a glimpse into what was really going on ‘behind the scenes’
My awesome assistant Sarah Sailer, looking thrilled to be modeling for my test shot (haha)! Seriously you guys, it took myself & my husband Korey HOURS in the cold trying to hang that darn paper background. We could not get it straight, or wrinkle free…and it took an insane amount of tape/clamps to get it to hold with the cold temperatures. Not to mention we were 12 feet in the air bickering the whole time. Total marriage test~he passed…he’s a keeper! As you can see, the paper wasn’t long enough, so I had to add a little black paper to the mix. Luckily, when you add in 16 gorgeous girls + a little photoshop magic, no one is the wiser! Well, except all of my blog readers…
The model team of 2016 wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
P.S. The blog is going to be getting a lot of action in the new year. Over 70 amazing senior sessions to blog + loads of adorable family’s~whoop!
What an awesome photo shoot. Kudos to you.I’m a fan of those Vanity Fair group shots too.
